WGUD produces several local shows weekly that are informative to the people of South Mississippi. WGUD also donates free air-time to local non-profit agencies and is actively involved in The Bacot/McCarty Foundation. The Bacot McCarty Foundation is a non-profit agency that gives money to many different organizations in South Mississippi such as Back Pack Buddies, Boys and Girl Clubs of Jackson County, The Dream Program, Excel by Five, Explosion of Excellence Scholarships, Gulf Coast Symphony, Gulf Coast YMCA,  Special Olympics, Home of Grace and so much more!
